Road Block and Detours

Do you ever have days where it seems like you keep ending up on roads that come to a dead end or a detour no matter which direction you go? That was me today as I was running errands. Lots of road construction happening in an area of town where I needed to take care of a few projects. At one point I became so confused I ended up having to plug my destination into the GPS. I was very grateful it was one of those days where I had nothing but time and didn't feel stressed for needing to be at any particular location by a designated time.

As I meandered from street to street I thought about how nice it was to be able to go through this situation and remain calm and relaxed - just able to go with the flow. I watched as others became frustrated and were in several close call accidents. They looked like fish trying to swim against the current. As I neared one of my destinations I found it was almost completely blocked off unless I went further down the street, made a u-turn and came back from the other direction.

I found myself thinking about how true this is with our life's path. So often we set out on our mapped out course just to find that the path we wanted to take is a dead end or we end up on a detour which requires us reconstruct our journey. There are even times that the detour can send us in a direction we never would have initially considered while bringing us better opportunities!

How we handle each roadblock and detour in our life determines our success in reaching our goals. The joy of life is not seeing how quick we can reach our destination; it's about enjoying the entire journey!

Financial Abundance

Each year, especially around the New Year, I see or hear many people looking for ways to gain financial abundance.

There is nothing wrong with wanting more money. It allows us to do things we were a bit more limited in doing previously.

You'll see hundreds of articles written and programs offered to teach you how to reach this goal. Many programs put out teaser tag lines: "For just $97 (or whatever the amount may be) my program will teach you how to increase your financial abundance." Some programs may offer some great lessons, however, a lot of them play on the prospective buyer's emotions and deliver little while the seller increases their abundance.

With that being said, there's nothing wrong with putting your creative skills to work and making an income. In fact I highly encourage a lot of my clients to get creative with their skills and see all of the options around them for generating their own income. However, we also need to make sure the way we run our business, and even our general daily life, that it lines up with our values and is ecologically good for our community. Be aware of key words that are used when offers for products or services are provided. What are you hoping to achieve versus what is being offered or promised?

You can make money through whatever avenue you can dream up and increase your financial abundance. Start with deciding what your ultimate goal is for increasing your wealth.

If we say, "I want more money." Then if someone gives you $5 you have reached your goal. You are now $5 richer than you were a moment ago. You weren't specific how much money you needed to obtained your goal. "I want to make "x" by "y" so I can do/have "z".

Do you really want to know how to gain financial abundance?
~ Discover your passion and purpose for life!
~ Be unique!
~ Follow your heart!

It's also good to know why you want more wealth. What do you intend to achieve with it? Replace a car that you've been milking along. Buy a house. Or perhaps your goal is to start or help a certain charity achieve a goal you are passionate about.

Finally, it's important to look at your mindset and emotionals around money. If you believe that all wealthy people are greedy, then you may need to work through this belief. If you have always lived a life of scarcity, then you may want to see what patterns need to change to open up the trickle of your cash flow to more of a steady flow.

Remember, everything we want to achieve takes action. Yes, we can say affirmations/mantras/prayers all day long and this may bring some change. However, to truly manifest your goal will take some (or perhaps a lot) of elbow grease. What would you like to create to achieve financial abundance? Now draw up a plan. Next, put that plan into ACTION!

Be true to yourself, your values and watch how the universe conspires to bring your heart's desire when you allow your energy to flow!

And above all, be in gratitude for what you have right now. Expressing gratitude creates a positive energy flow.

Now go and get started on creating your amazing
financial abundance for this year!!

What Are You Creating?

It's been over a month since my last entry. I have two blogs I'm currently writing. The other is here (http://christiemckenzie.wordpress.com/) and was started a year ago. The "Empowered Journeys" blog was created to give potential clients an insight in what it would be like to coach with me. If you enjoy what I write here you may enjoy the other as well. ;-)

I want to also start out by giving my dear friend, Lora Rosi, a big shout-out and THANK YOU!!! for sharing my blog with her peeps! You can read more about Lora here: http://www.thehugginghome.com/ or on her Facebook Fan Page (The Hugging Home). Thanks again, Lora, I'm deeply grateful for your love and support!

The beginning of 2012 has kicked off with many exciting adventures for me! I will have an online metaphysical store in a short couple of weeks, and a few days ago I became a practitioner at Gingers Wellness Garden and Spa (http://gingerswellnessgarden.com/) providing Life and Breath Coaching! Both of these goals are huge steps in bringing me closer to my dream of opening my own wellness center!! A dream I began creating 7 years ago after dealing with some severe health challenges.

For the first time in my life I am able to look back at the 30-40 years of health issues I have had and finally say, "Thank You!!" Yes, I know that sounds crazy! Why am I saying "thank you" for those challenges? Because without them I probably wouldn't be who I am today. I have knocked on death's door not once but many times and survived another day. I've spent hours upon hours researching and trying many solutions, desperately wanting to be rid of the medication that I knew was having horrible effects on my body. I've watched with wonder and awe at the amazing people that could dance, run marathons and triathlons, play extensive sports, climb mountains, or just spend a blissful spring day outside going for a walk or working in the garden. Pieces of life that are so easily taken for granted by some.

I am now feeling healthier than I ever have and enjoy the beauty all around me in each new day! Being given notice for the last time how grave my health was 7 years ago put me on the road, literally and metaphorically, to find what I knew was out there all along. I knew this was my purpose in life. To obtain better health so I could assist others in doing the same.

In a few short years, if not before, I will open my wellness center which will offer a full range of services. If you would like to learn more about me, feel free to check out my Facebook page. Thank you for your support and being a part of my journey! ;-)
